Of the four type I fractures accoridng to Crosby result; one. A good result. Of the ten type II fractures, four had a good result; five. A fair result; one. A poor result. Of the five type III fractures, one had a fair result; and four, a poor
result.
The less damage to posterior articular facet, the better prognosis after closed treatment. In type I fractures, we had a satisfactory clinical result with closed treatment. In type II fractures, we had a unsatisfactory result with closed
treament.
We
consider that open reduction and internal fixation is better than the closed teatment in type II fracture. In type III fracture, we had a poor result after closed treatment. But this type of fractures can not be reconstructible by modern surgical
methods due to severe comminution. We consider type III fracture has a poor prognosis regardless of the methods of the treatment.
